Who we are

Waco Family Medicine (WFM) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) providing health care to underserved residents of McLennan and Bell counties who have historically struggled in a health care system that favors privately-insured patients. Last year, we served over 60,000 patients, providing integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health care across 14 clinic sites. Additionally, WFM addresses social and environmental barriers to wellness through innovative programs and community partnerships. https://wacofamilymedicine.org/

Informatics at WFM

We have been an Epic shop since 1991. We are small for an Epic client but that also provides the opportunity for agility, simpler governance, and a deeper hands-on experience in an organization that understands the value of and need for informatics. We provide outpatient services through 14 clinical sites spread over 30+ miles. We do not provide inpatient services but have good relationships with our 2 local hospitals (also Epic shops) and collaborate with both. Our ACGME Accredited Applied Clinical Informatics fellowship started in 2021.  https://residency.wacofamilymedicine.org/fellowships/clinical-informatics/
